Safety Tips

- When purchasing a natural gas appliance make sure it carries the Blue Star Seal.
- Use licensed heating and plumbing contractors who will install your equipment according to state and local codes.
- Always insist on proper installation of all natural gas equipment.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all natural gas equipment on a regular basis.
- Change filters and keep appliances clean and free from trash and dust.

Indoors

Smell	A distinctive odor similar to rotten eggs
See	Pilot flame burning abnormally high
Hear	Unusual noises coming from appliance(s)

Outdoors

Smell	A distinctive odor similar to rotten eggs
See	A cloud/mist, bubbles in standing water, blowing debris or dead/dying vegetation
Hear	A roaring, hissing or whistling sound
