Call Before You Dig

811b

811 (P.U.P.S. – Palmetto Utility Protection Service, Inc.)
811 that is all there is to it.  One phone call before you dig can save you time and money.  The phone call is free.  All utilities that are members with PUPS will be notified with this one call.  If a utility is not a member, please contact them directly.

The South Carolina STATE LAW requires that excavators give a 72-Hour notice, (3 working days excluding weekends and holidays), for the locators to get out to mark the area. After a ticket has been processed, you will know when you are legally free to proceed with the digging work and which utilities in the area PUPS will be notifying for you.

Once the lines are marked you are ready to dig (use the color chart below to know which lines have been located).  Keep in mind you need to have a 2 ½ ft allowance on either side of the marked lines.
