York County Natural Gas Authority
Service Line Installation - Public Building

Existing Natural Gas Service

Generally, for public buildings, YCNGA will extend a natural gas service line at a specific cost per foot depending on the size of the service line pipe. Please see the Fee Summary to determine the amount per foot. Contact the Business Development Group to get an estimate for service line installation. In addition, a tap fee is applicable to all service line installations.  The service line and metering equipment remain under the ownership and control of YCNGA. YCNGA reserves the right to determine the specific location of the service line and metering equipment.

Customer Owned Piping

The customer is responsible for the installation of all piping from the meter to your natural gas equipment (i.e. space heater, water heater or stove, etc.). If you wish, YCNGA is licensed to install piping and will do so at your expense. Several local contractors also install piping.

Facility Inspections

The installation of your piping is subject to inspection and approval by an authorized representative of the municipal or county regulatory agency having jurisdiction. YCNGA is prohibited from furnishing natural gas service without evidence that the installation has been tested, inspected and approved in accordance with the appropriate codes.

Property Access

Employees of YCNGA, and its agents, reserve the right to enter your property or grounds to make installations, inspections or repairs, take readings, or for other necessary purposes regarding Authority-owned facilities. Any service installation up to and including the meter is subject to removal or change only by an authorized representative of YCNGA. For your protection, every employee carries an official identification card showing his or her name and photograph. If you have any doubt about anyone who says they are from YCNGA, please ask to see their ID card.
