Safety First
Any source of energy, including natural gas, can be dangerous if misused. Respect all energy sources and use them properly. When purchasing a natural gas appliance, make sure it carries the Blue Star Seal that certifies that the equipment meets the strict safety standards of the American Gas Association. Insist on proper installation of all natural gas equipment. Use licensed heating and plumbing contractors who will install your equipment according to State and local codes. The Authority can provide you with a list of licensed contractors or can arrange installation for you.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all natural gas equipment on a regular basis. Simply changing filters and keeping appliances clean and free from trash and dust can improve operating performance and safety.
